March Feng Shui Resolutions: Partnership

Hello again, friends.

March was the month of partnership on my bagua resolutions chart.

As we all know, partnership is no joke. While at once being something playful and fun, it must also be something we take damn seriously.

A wise man once wrote to pick your life partner carefully because he or she will be responsible for 90% of your life's happiness or misery. While I don't like making any one person that responsible for my own happiness or lack thereof, there's some real truth in these words. Our partners have the potential to be some of the greatest sources of happiness, joy, inspiration, health, pain, misery, anger, or depression in our lives.

So in the month of partnership, we ask ourselves, where am I at in my relationship with my partner (if I have one)? Do I want a partner (if I don't have one and maybe even if I do)? Is this relationship a source for good things, bad things, or both in my life? How can I improve my relationship? How can I be a better partner? How can my partner be a better partner to me? How can we work together? Are we better off together or apart?

These questions and this process are never easy but absolutely necessary for growth within one's self and within a successful relationship.

One of my favorite things to do in a relationship is to give proofs of love. That can be daily things like saying "I love you," leaving love notes, or cooking someone's favorite dish. Proofs of love are vital to a relationship. Proofs of love are what makes the heart beat. Proofs of love are the good stuff.

If you're not in a relationship, give yourself proofs of love. What do I mean by this? Things like body care: self massage, bubble baths, exercise, dressing super sharp or super sexy just because you're feelin' yourself. Doing these little things for ourselves makes it easier to be in the habit of showing love to others, including future partners and lovers.

When we pay attention to the nine bagua areas of our lives, we create balance and harmony in our environment. We're more in tune with ourselves; we know our priorities; we act with conviction; and we take care of the people and things around us. This, of course, creates a strong resonance in our surroundings that in turn, comes back to us. Through the process of resonant synchronicity or entrainment, we all feed off of each other's energy. Just one person's positive resonance, if the person is strong enough, can drastically change an environment.

Wishing you all good luck with love and partnership.
