April was the month of creativity on my feng shui resolutions chart.
April has been so filled with creativity, in fact, that it's hard for me to pull myself away from creative projects to write this blog!
So I'll just say this about creativity. We must constantly feed it. We must keep it alive in ourselves, whether we recognize ourselves as "artists" or not. Do things that spark joy. Feed your inner child. Here are some of the ways I do it:
Make flower arrangements.
Sketch or draw.
Cook with passion.
Learn a new language.
Change your hair color, nail color, or make-up style whenever the heck you feel like it.
Photograph the mundane.
Travel like your life depends on it.
Wander, meander, explore off the beaten path on a regular basis.
Dance, preferably with your eyes closed (it's about how you feel, not who's watching).
Write a book.
And on this last one, I'm happy to say that I'm now finishing a book that I've been working on for the last few years. I put my all into it. I love it and am proud of it. I'm ready to birth it. So please be on the look-out for this book in the future. It's my hope that even just one person enjoys reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Through all the blood, sweat, and tears of making this damn thing, one thing drove me through it: the absolutely life-giving process of meditating on and exploring a subject that we find meaning in.
Remember this month that when we pay attention to the nine bagua areas of our lives, we create balance and harmony in our environment. We're more in tune with ourselves; we know our priorities; we act with conviction; and we take care of the people and things around us. This, of course, creates a strong resonance in our surroundings that in turn, comes back to us. Through the process of resonant synchronicity or entrainment, we all feed off of each other's energy. Just one person's positive resonance, if the person is strong enough, can drastically change an environment.
Good luck, dear friends, with your creative passions.
